Located in the middle of the three main centers of production and consumption in the country, as well as with an important proximity to the port of Buenaventura, Pereira has a privileged location in logistic terms.

Likewise, the fact of being a city of medium size allows Pereira to have competitive costs in the international market.

Likewise, Pereira is the center of the coffee axis, a region in which has a converge of 3 departments: Risaralda, Quindío and Caldas.

Pereira has bet on the connectivity area and that is why in 2019 the city will be inaugurating the new passenger terminal of the Matecaña International Airport, which will have 26,000 Mt2. Furthermore, at the end of 2018 the ILS (instrumental Landing System) will be inaugurated, which will allow a 50% reduction in the hours in which the airport is closed.
70% of passengers arriving in the coffee region land at Pereira’s airport. Currently, there are connections to Bogotá, Panama, New York and Miami (as of December 20, 2018). The Department has an interesting offer of logistics centers, as well as a free zone, thanks to the road that connects the territory with the rest of the country.
